Repeat Prescriptions (please also read 'important ordering information')
Repeat prescriptions can be ordered:
- In surgery (via Repeat Slip or on the form available) and put into our RED BOX.
- On-line via Airmid (new users) or SystmOnline (if already signed up) - you will need to need to ask Reception to sign you up to Electronic Services. You will need to bring in some form of photo ID so that a username & password can be given to you or it can be posted to your home address.
- On-line via the NHS website (www.nhs.uk) - sign up for a username and password. You can also use these log in details with Airmid.
- PLEASE DO NOT PHONE TO SEE IF YOUR PRESCRIPTION IS READY TO COLLECT--Thank you.
PLEASE NOTE THAT PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS MUST BE IN WRITING.
Please order your medication 7 days before you run out.
We aim to process all current repeat prescriptions within 2 working days. However if an item needs to be re-authorised by a doctor it may take longer.
Please allow another 24 - 48 hours before collecting from your pharmacy
Prescriptions received after 4:30 in the afternoon will not be processed until the following day.
Remember that the surgery closes for bank holidays and you may need to request your repeat prescription early.
SAME DAY PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS ARE FOR LIFE OR DEATH MEDICATIONS ONLY
Prescription requests received after 4.30PM (or during a weekend) will not be processed until the following working day.
MEDICATIONS ON A REPEAT TEMPLATE
PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS TAKE 2 WORKING DAYS TO PROCESS (EXCLUDING WEEKENDS).
MEDICATIONS NOT ON A REPEAT TEMPLATE OR A MEDICATION THAT HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED FOR A LONG TIME. You must provide a reason for wanting this medication again. IT WILL TAKE BETWEEN 2 AND 5 WORKING DAYS TO PROCESS THESE REQUESTS AS A GP NEEDS TO AUTHORISE THEM.
If you present an Out Of Hours Or Hospital Consultant medication request, this can take 3-5 working days!
